Today was the longest drive of all, totaling ~263 miles. I drove through County Cork on the way to Kerry, starting the Ring of Kerry route in Killarney. I went counter clockwise across the mountains. The views from the start were amazing. It ranged in and out from mountains and hills to ocean. I went off the route a few times, finding some truly spectacular places. Ballinskellig had a lovely beach with ruins, Rossbeigh gave a wonderful wide view of the ocean. I got a bit lost, but managed to randomly find a place called Bonane. It had a few remnants of ancient dwellers, including a ring fort and not so spectacular standing stones. The trail was uphill as well, leading to a harder walk. I drove back to Lismore late in the night, getting to Fermoy around 8-9 pm. There I picked up Chinese sweet and sour chicken, then headed for the cottage.
